At Excel, we keep our patients walking in comfort with a full line of diabetic shoes and custom inserts.
The practitioners at Excel know what types of diabetic shoes, surgical shoes, and orthopedic shoes in conjunction with biomechanical foot orthotics can help solve your foot and general body health issues. The foot is the body’s foundation, and when feet are unsupported or out of balance, the entire lower body is affected, resulting in ankle pain, knee pain, leg pain, and lower back pain.
Our experience and cutting-edge technology create a better quality of life for patients.
Our industry-leading technologies are utilized by an experienced, professional team of certified practitioners and technicians. Technology is always changing and improving, and we owe it to our patients to seek out the knowledge of all options available. Digital scanning is an example of this technology that improves quality of life by capturing the most accurate model of the patient.
Excel Diabetic Offerings
Diabetic Footwear: Off the shelf shoes and custom molded shoes. This includes modifications to the diabetic shoes including lifts, wedges, and rocker soles.
Diabetic Insoles: used to evenly distribute pressure over the entire plantar surface of the foot, alleviate areas that may be sensitive or painful, accommodate/correct for deformities, and improve the overall alignment of the foot, ankle complex and lower limb. Categories of foot orthoses include accommodative, corrective, rigid, semi-rigid, and soft.
The Charcot Restraint Orthotic Walker (CROW): orthosis is a custom fabricated brace which maintains the foot in a plantigrade position for ambulation and protection of the joints and skin by the uniform transfer or distribution of weight over the foot until the time when the pathology reaches the stage of coalescence (the fusion or blending of parts).
Excel TORCH Walker (Total contact Orthotic Restraining Custom Hybrid): combines the support and positioning of a traditional AFO with the accommodation and functionality of custom molded footwear. A triple density custom insole and a rocker bottom with SACH heel are standard features. The Excel TORCH Walker offers a multitude of diagnosis specific modifications and options to accommodate any complex lower extremity condition. It is fully adjustable for fluctuating edema and the Velcro/lace closure creates a perfect fit every time. This 100% custom device can accommodate any situation and is a superior alternative to the CROW Walker. Increased patient compliance translates into better outcomes.
